RISING STARS
Rising Stars is a talent showcase held at New World School of the Arts every year. This event showcases the talent of the different divisions in the school on one special night. Talents such as dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. I had the task to create a design to brand the show for 2018. I came up with the idea of using comic book influences to create a comic book styled design. I used my influences of humor and music to come up with the idea. I love presenting things in a new way, and these things influence me because of the way people approach their media in their own personal way. I then created four characters to represent the four students of each division (the rising stars), each with a different color loosely relating to the colors of the New World logo, and four character illustrations of the deans of each division at New World. This piece was designed to give that nostalgia and feeling of being a child having hopes and dreams to become something when they grow up, a rising star.
